torna Mail Club - join our bimonthly mail club and become a pen pal of torna's!

We have a very exciting announcement to make. We are starting a bimonthly mail club where we can share torna work in a tangible, personal and hands-on way outside the worlds of computer screens and social media.

Instead of concentrating only on the finished book, exhibition, project or event we think the more exciting part is the happening stage.

At torna, we work on many things. We design, make, publish and sell books in collaborations with other artists and writers. We have an art research group where we support each other in getting the work done. We attend book events and host a small art residency program. We build miniature room replicas and every summer restore a 100-year old, 3 storey wooden house in a beautiful village in Turkey. We sew, we cut and we glue. We learn a new skill, we read a new book. A music researcher comes to help us with the house restorations and ends up doing amazing recordings inside the lake by the house. There are so many behind-the-scenes daily actions that don't get to be recorded but they are what give the energy to torna, what make it all fun and worthwhile. It is never about the finished thing, it is always the joys and struggles on the way to getting to it.

Starting from July 2026, and every two months after that, you will receive an A5 sized, curated envelope at your doorstep. It will be from torna, telling you what we have been working on, notes on projects that have not yet been published, and always with an original printed art publication - whether it be a piece of writing by an artist, a small pamphlet of notes or a set of postcards. (And there will also be something about food!) We hope to add more ideas as we get more experience in this mail-clubbing.

Please do subscribe to our mail club. You won't only be receiving (and over time collecting) pretty good work for the price of a coffee but also will be supporting the future of torna activities.

We send out the letters on the 15th of the shipping month. Each mail will be shipped from Bristol, UK. The first one will be shipped in mid July 2026. Second one will be shipped mid September 2026 and so on.
